Sunday Stew is a weekly meme hosted by Shannon of Books Devored.
Upon closer investigation, I thought, "Why are Harry and Hermione holding baseball bats? Or, wait, did they join the Gryffindor Quidditch team as beaters?" Then it struck me--this is *LEGO* Harry Potter, which means everything is exaggerated! Harry's not holding a bat in which to bludgeon his enemies (though he very well could with that thing), it's a *WAND*!!! Silly me! My next thought was, "Why would anyone want a sticker book full of Harry Potter lego figurines? I mean, wouldn't it be better to have stickers of the movie characters or, you know, anything else?" I don't know. Lego doesn't even make Fred and George Weasley figurines, so I guess if I played Lego Harry Potter, I'd just have to make do with two Ron's. Or so I thought, until I Googled it. Check these out...
Holy Shrieking Shack, Dumbledore! I totally need to acquire these babies!
Around The Web: Harry Potter is a *hot* topic right now, and I dedicated this week's "Friday Faves" to my fave book series. I even made a special icon for "Friday Faves: Pottermania Edition." There's a whole slew of information, including links to not one, but two guest posts I wrote this week--one called "Amy's View on the Best of the Rest" for Refelctions of a Book Addict (which is having a whole Harry Potter Blogsposion with great prizes!) and another called "Why I Love Fred and George Weasley" for Reading with Tequila. Check 'em out! Pictured below is my very special "Pottermania Edition" icon, which is a portkey to Backseat Reader's Friday Faves. Click on it and be transported to the magical mania that is Harry!
Here's a funny video about what it means to be a Hufflepuff student (HT Reading Teen)...
The girl in the video sort of reminds of me a less spacey Luna Lovegood, but Luna's a Ravenclaw.
And now for some giveaways...

Around Me: Well, I want to post a picture of my special Saturday project, but I'm not allowed until Sarah asks her boss if I can. So you can't see it. But it's really pretty. My mom and I designed an amazing adoption board so people can see all the waiting kids that need good homes. I thought a "capture" would be cool and we could use bugs and butterflies to highlight a child's inquisitive nature. Then my mom thought of the theme, "Capture the wonder..." (of a child--we didn't want to make it TOO long!). Anyway, the whole thing is amazing. Hopefully, I'll be able to show it to you soon and very soon. There are 17 groups of kids, individual and sibling groups that are looking for homes. Pray that they will find loving homes.
I'm taking a blogging break next week, so no Sunday Stew for me (I might do a special update on my project though)! See ya in two weeks! (P.S. My right sidebar appears to be missing. I think a Death Eater ate it.)
What's in your stew this Sunday?

My kids are home from camp and we are going to watch ALL the HP movies and then go see it next weekend. I have never sat through an entire HP movie, so I am kind of looking forward to it!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome project! Whether we can see it or not, AWESOME! Every child deserves a family!
Legos are cool...but I really hate stepping on them!! I hope all those kiddos find loving homes!!!
