Sunday Stew is a weekly meme hosted by Shannon of Books Devored.
Bookmark of the Week: Even though I've received some pretty swaggy bookmarks lately, I've still been using scraps of paper, receipts, notes, and even a tissue. The tissue didn't work out well for two reasons--I used it to blow my nose and then Maddy the Shih Tzu tore it to shreds. Yeah. Just keeping it real. To prove that she is a voracious paper shredder, I've added photographic evidence of Maddy the Shih Tzu destroying toilet paper.
Around The Web: Since I do Friday Faves over at Backseat Writer, I'll link you to my "Friday Faves: The Apocalypse Edition." I wrote really hard on those posts and would hate for you all to miss out on Elijah Wood doing his "Puppet Master" dancey dance. In fact, I'll just have to repost it here because you CANNOT miss it.
Hot, isn't it?

Around Me: Do you ever feel like you can't catch up? Like life is spinning madly on and on and you're just watching it? That's how I feel right now. My very dear friend was diagnosed with cancer, which is always a heart-stopping announcement, even though she will have an operation to remove the cancer and live. Still, at 31, I am reminded of my own mortality (and this is from a girl who nearly died at 21.) That, and I have to see my family doctor for a regular check-up early Monday morning, which always terrifies me. I'm afraid that something will be wrong again...like when I was 21.
Usually, I like to leave my readers with a smile and a laugh, but I suppose I'm feeling a little mellow, maybe even a little melancholy. Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and a good week!

I am so sorry to hear about your friend! Cancer is a scary thing. I will be praying for her. I hope that you are doing better than melancholy now. Thanks for participating in Sunday Stew!
